Kissavos: Escape to the Mountain of the Titans

We depart from Volos at 8:00 AM and head towards the Kissavos refuge at an altitude of 1498m. We enjoy our coffee with a view of the mountain ridge to gather strength for the rest of the day. With our eyes fixed on the abandoned OTE building at the end of the slope, we ascend a combination of dirt road and path until we reach the base of the ridge that leads us to the summit of Kissavos. Here we find the famous underground chapel of Prophet Elias at an altitude of 1978m. Souvenir photos of the summit and return to the refuge for hot chocolate and planning new goals.
